This bowl is by Robert Allen Homer.  He is a Zia and Hopi, and is a son of Marie Moquino and a nephew of Corn Moquino.  It was Corn Moquino (Santa Clara) who taught him to make pottery.  This piece is coil-built, stone polished, fired, and etched with design.  One side has a realistic elk etched into the clay.  The opposite side has a Mimbres deer.  They are each two-toned sienna.  Separating them is a triangular mountain design that is also etched into the clay.  It is signed, “RH”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
